Gremlins: Holiday Havoc Card Game Review

As a child of the 80’s, I remember seeing Gremlins when it opened in movie theaters in 1984. And I loved it!

I also remember watching Gremlins with my kids when they were old enough for me to enrich their lives with classic 80’s culture. And that’s when I realized, Gremlins really isn’t a kids movie!

Those Gremlins are pretty nasty creatures. But the excruciating deaths by kitchen appliances is quite an eye-opening scene (when I’m now seeing it through the eyes of my kids).

How irresponsible of a parent could I be?

But I digress…let’s talk game instead!

With the Christmas holiday upon us, it’s time we slap some Gremlins around in this new game by Funko — Gremlins: Holiday Havoc.

What are the chances that two different companies would publish cooperative board games based on Back to the Future in the same year?

Chow Down on Pop-Tarts!

Do you prefer your Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts toasted or frozen?

If you’re like people we know, your immediate response may be, “you can eat them frozen?” Well, apparently you can.

And in Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts Game, by Funko, you’ll be taking both toasted and frozen Pop-Tarts to score points and hopefully be the first to eat 30 points worth of the convenient snack.

Pop-Tarts is a simple and quick card game that up to 6 players can enjoy.

Just be warned that you’ll probably need some snacks nearby because you’re going to get hungry playing the game.

Back to the Future: Back in Time cooperative game review

I was a teenager when the first Back to the Future movie hit the big screen in 1985. And I remember absolutely loving the movie!

The premise was a lot of fun and I laughed the whole time.

That first movie became a cultural iconic film that’s still fun to revisit to this day. That also explains why a bunch of Back to the Future games have been made since. Unfortunately, the few I’ve played over the years haven’t been very good games.

That is, until now!

Back to the Future: Back in Time, by Funko, breaks that mold. As a cooperative board game, it delivers the right type of gameplay for the theme — making a fun game!

When I first came across the Funko POP characters years ago, I was hooked. My favorites were the Star Wars characters and I bought a bunch to sit atop my office shelves.
