We've played a lot of "escape room" board games and card games over the years. They're full of riddles and puzzles to solve as you cooperatively try to get out of whatever predicament the story has you caught up in.

But rarely do these types of games include actual puzzles to put together!

However, that's exactly the case with Exit: The Game + Puzzle – The Sacred Temple.

In this EXIT game by Kosmos, in addition to the riddles and challenges along the way, you'll put together 4 actual puzzles!

Then you'll look for more riddles/puzzles within those puzzles to progress further on your journey.

If you like puzzles within your puzzles, then read on...

Two years ago we took off on a quest in space and now we’re searching the depths of the sea.

In fact, it was exactly 2 years ago, in March 2020, when we reviewed The Crew: Quest for Planet Nine by Kosmos. We played it a TON leading up to doing our review. And then we played it even more in the months after that while we were all shut inside as the Covid pandemic broke out around the world.

Needless to say, we absolutely loved the cooperative, trick-taking, mission-based card game. We could hardly get enough of it, even making up our own challenging mission scenarios.

Since then, Kosmos has gone ahead and outdone themselves with the follow-up game The Crew: Mission Deep Sea!

Yes, that’s right – they found a way to make a fantastic game even better. And I don’t think we’ll ever play the original again.

Although it may feel like all of 2020 has been scary, the official day for scary stuff — Halloween — is next week!

We’ve posted in the past about great games to play on or around Halloween (like Gloom or Hit Z Road). And this year, we have a few more to add to the mix. Just the other day we reviewed Scooby-Doo! Escape from the Haunted Mansion.

And the game we’re reviewing today has a number of similarities to Scooby-Doo! (minus the Mystery Inc gang). It’s a cooperative game Kosmos released last year in their “Adventure Games” series called The Dungeon.

Are you ready to take on The Dungeon?

We've all been pretty disappointed since Pluto was declassified as a planet in our solar system.

Not that we had any actual travel plans of getting there some day. But when the International Astronomical Union decided to withdraw Pluto's status as our solar system's 9th planet in 2006, it caused quite the stir.

Well, all that's behind us now. We must look to the future!

And your future may include becoming part of the crew to rediscover the 9th planet in The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine by Kosmos!

Falling shapes are fun in Drop It https://www.theboardgamefamily.com/2019/01/drop-it-board-game-review/ https://www.theboardgamefamily.com/2019/01/drop-it-board-game-review/#comments Wed, 23 Jan 2019 02:48:08 +0000 https://www.theboardgamefamily.com/?p=31339 The Board Game Family

We recently added a puppy to our family and are working on training her. One of the commands we’re trying to teach her is “Drop It”.

Inevitably, she’ll grab something she’s not supposed and we’ll ask her to “drop it”. It’s hit or miss so far, but we’re working on it.

One thing that’s not as tough as training a puppy is a new game by Kosmos called Drop It. Instead, this kind of dropping it is a lot more fun.

In Drop It, players take turns dropping various shapes for points.

That’s right — drop some shapes and score points!
