Gremlins: Holiday Havoc Card Game Review

As a child of the 80’s, I remember seeing Gremlins when it opened in movie theaters in 1984. And I loved it!

I also remember watching Gremlins with my kids when they were old enough for me to enrich their lives with classic 80’s culture. And that’s when I realized, Gremlins really isn’t a kids movie!

Those Gremlins are pretty nasty creatures. But the excruciating deaths by kitchen appliances is quite an eye-opening scene (when I’m now seeing it through the eyes of my kids).

How irresponsible of a parent could I be?

But I digress…let’s talk game instead!

With the Christmas holiday upon us, it’s time we slap some Gremlins around in this new game by Funko — Gremlins: Holiday Havoc.

Help the Toy Story gang!

I’m a big Toy Story fan.

I was blown away with the animation in the first Toy Story movie in 1995 and have loved every one since. So when Disney and Pixar released Toy Story 4 last summer, it didn’t matter if my kids weren’t young anymore. I was going to see it!

And as soon as it hit Disney+ this year, I was ready to see it again.

But Toy Story 4 wasn’t the only cool Toy Story release last year. The OP also released a new Toy Story cooperative board game — Toy Story Obstacles and Adventures!

With as much as I like Toy Story. And as much as we enjoy cooperative board games. I had high hopes diving into the game.

And I won’t make you wait until later for the surprise — it delivers the fun!

Well, all that’s behind us now. We must look to the future!

And your future may include becoming part of the crew to rediscover the 9th planet in The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine by Kosmos!

Point Salad scores big!

This past summer I switched jobs.

The switch was great for me for a number of reasons. One of the cool perks is that there are a bunch of employees that love playing games during lunch breaks.

Since not every game makes a great lunch break game, I’ve been selective on which games to take to the office to play.

A good lunch break game is one that’s quick to set up, relatively quick to play, easy to teach, can accommodate varying numbers of players, has a lot of replay value, and can be enjoyed by almost anyone.

Point Salad has turned out to be a perfect lunch break game!

It also gets lunch break game bonus points for being about food!
